Instructions

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Coffee Beans
  • Coffee Grinder (or use our Turkish pre-ground coffee)
  • 1 Large Mason Jar or Pitcher
  • 4 Cups Cold Filtered Water (better water = better cold brew)
  • Your favorite glass or mug to serve

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Grinding the Coffee Beans: For Turkish coffee, the grind is a critical aspect. You need to grind your coffee as finely as possible, achieving almost a powdered sugar consistency. A Turkish coffee grinder will offer the best results, but you can also use a regular grinder on its finest setting.
  2. Step 2: Mixing Coffee Grounds and Water: After obtaining your finely ground coffee, mix it with cold, filtered water in your large jar or pitcher. The coffee-to-water ratio will be according to your taste, but for a robust brew, a 1:4 coffee-to-water ratio is our recommendation.
  3. Step 3: Steeping: Now, it's time for steeping. Leave the mixture at room temperature for at least 12 hours. If you can wait, we recommend 24 hours. Despite traditional Turkish coffee being brewed quickly, we are adopting a slow, cold brew approach for a smoother, less acidic taste.
  4. Step 4: Settling and Serving: Unlike traditional cold brew methods that require straining, your Turkish-style cold brew doesn't need this step. Instead, after steeping, give it a few more hours in the fridge to let the fine grounds settle at the bottom of your jar or pitcher. When you're ready to serve, pour the coffee slowly into your favorite glass or mug, ensuring the grounds remain at the bottom of the jar. Your Turkish-style cold brew is ready to be enjoyed!

Notes

This style of cold brew produces a stronger brew without the need for a filter or any fancy equipment.
